Personal Histories

Preserving a Personal History is a special gift, for yourself, and the people you care most about.

It is Personal and interpersonal, all about reporting what things mean to a person and sharing that self-report with other persons now and in years to come.

The History always lives in the present, in the curiosity and concerns of someone living in these years now who wonders what can be learned, used, and appreciated from living experience in those years then.

For the people to whom you are important, they will not want to forget your voice, your way of talking and interacting, your favorite sayings, what your mind knows and heart feels about yourself and about them. When people are cherished by us we want to show them off. Folks who work with their own stories often fall a little bit in love with themselves again even they're shy. When we hear someone say something “true” about what they've been through our respect and compassion grows, even when relationships have had difficulty. Sometimes long-time pain, regret, and anger discovers a bridge for restored connection.

We have a number of services and projects designed to save lives for remembering and understanding. We pride ourselves in sharing big meanings even if there are small means.

"I'm so grateful to Ron O'Reilly for capturing the life story of my father. He's gone now but he lives on in an Heirloom Photo Album that I share with my children, and they will share with their children. I recommend Ron to any family who wants to preserve the memory and personality of someone special for generations to come."
